Mangrove Planting

In conjunction with Earth week and JCI week, more or less 200 personel and volunteers from JCI Greater Pagadian, JCI Yllana, JJC Yllana, DENR Region IX, Philippine Airforce – TOG 9, Kapisanan mang mga Broadcaster sa Pilipinas, Professional Regulations Commission and the Philippine Army worked hand in hand to plant Mangroves At Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur on April 19, 2018. Such activity is alligned with JCI Phillippines National Project on thinking green to improve our environment. The mangroves were planted to serve as future estuary and a sustainable marine barier and habitat for a lasting positive impact. The sheer number of participants definitely inspires the rest to be more aware of our environment.
Objectives
– To conduct mangrove tree planting with at least 30 participants at Labangan Zamboanga del Sur. -To celebrate Earth Week and JCI Week and inspire the community to preserve mother nature.
Action Taken
Partnerships with DENR Region IX and other offices were established with most of the effort and technicalities taken care of by DENR.
Results Achieved
More than 200 participants helped and planted hundreds of mangrove saplinga.
